How to Unlock Bootloader Xiaomi Redmi 5A

In this article i will show you how to unlock bootloader on xiaomi redmi 5a, unlocking the phone bootloader is required if you want to install custom recovery, root the phone or use custom rom.

Requirements

1. mi flash unlock software (download from miui.com or google drive)
2. a computer running windows

How To Unlock Bootloader Xiaomi Redmi 5A

• make sure you already login with mi account on your phone
• open developer options > mi unlock status, click on add account and device
• download the mi flash unlock software and extract the zip file on your computer
• run the MiUsbDriver.exe to install the driver (you need to plug the phone to the computer)
• turn off the phone and then press and hold volume rocker down and power button at the same time for a few seconds until you see the mi rabbit logo
• open miflash_unlock.exe (make sure you have internet connection)
• login with the same mi account that you use to login on the phone
• click the unlock button to begin unlock bootloader

Some errors that might happens

Error : Couldn't unlock After 360 hours of trying to unlock the device

Solution : there nothing you can do except wait until 360 hours (15 days), after 360 hours do the unlock process again.

Error : Current account is not bound to this device

Solution : login with mi account on redmi 5a and then go to developer options > mi unlock status > click on add account and device, the mi account must be the same as mi account you use to login in the mi flash unlock software, otherwise it won't work.

Error : Can't unlock. Your account isn't associated with a phone number.

Solution : go to account.xiaomi.com, find the recovery phone section and add your phone number
